Principal Jody Hadwin

This is my third year as principal at Hampton Elementary School. During that time, we have made great strides in academic achievement, incorporating the arts, introducing athletic programs, and expanding afterschool programs. Our mission is to provide every child with the best educational opportunities and cultural experiences available.

I am a 1987 graduate of Estill High School. I attended the University of South Carolina where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Psychology and Secondary Education in the field of Social Studies in 1992. In 2009, I earned a Master of Education in Secondary School Leadership from Cambridge College, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

My teaching experience includes tenures at Estill High School, Effingham County High School (Springfield, Georgia), and Wade Hampton High School. During that time, I taught US History, Teacher Cadet, Psychology, Sociology, Government, World History, Economics, and Firefighting. While at Estill High School, I served as Social Studies Department Chairperson, Tennis Coach, Golf Coach, Junior Class Advisor, Yearbook Advisor, and Athletic Trainer. The History Club was established under my guidance at Effingham County High School and I was one of four teachers selected to pilot the Freshmen Academy. I served as Athletic Trainer, Activity Bus Coordinator, and Assistant Principal at Wade Hampton High School.

We are family at Hampton Elementary School and everyone is a vital link to the success of our students. The community is encouraged to be a part of our school and parents are always welcome to volunteer for the continued betterment of our school.

At Hampton Elementary School, “We are swarming with PRIDE as we cruise to GREATNESS!”
